Both not realistic, so the answer would be no.

Re: Payet v Holland

Agreed. I get the same feeling of a pen being awarded when I see us get a free kick 20 yards out because you know he will at least be hitting the target.

Re: his age being a contributor to other clubs not wanting him, I think thats rubbish. Ronaldo is 31 which shows 2 years doesn't make a difference if you have that world class ability, any club in the world would sign Ronaldo and he is 31 and 2 years older than Payet.

Like I previously said, there is not a single figure I would sell him for as we would not get anything even near his quality in return. Love the geezer.

Steady ludo.

On the age thing he probably has a few years left still so clubs won't be put off putting big bids in. Hopefully we tell them to do one though as he does seem genuinely happy here.

Re: Payet v Holland
I agree One Mac.... if he carries on this form for another 6 months I reckon we will be watching a Ballon D'Or winner playing for West Ham!!! Not least because they have to be bored giving it to Ronaldo and Messi every year.

He's about as motivated as he could possibly be now, exciting times ahead for us.

Surely has to be one of the best players in Europe, if not the World at the moment.

Re: Payet v Holland
Glad we got his contract sorted before the Euro's because I can see him doing this on that stage and being even more sought after. I know he's getting on a bit in footballing terms but the mega rich clubs will pay up even if they only get a few years out of him.

In any case, we won't sell and he doesn't want to go. Not the sort of club we are anymore.

I have to pinch myself when I think that we have a player of true world class quality playing for West Ham United.

Lovely stuff.

Agree and whatsmore, whatever the range I instinctively expect the goalkeeper to work at the least

Any free kick outside the area now is almost the same as a penalty if Dimitri takes them

Re: Payet v Holland
Good quote from after the game... sounds like a happy camper:

Payet is buzzing after his recall to the France team this week.

“It's true that I'm in the best period of my career," he told the FFF website.

“I'm living out a fairy tale with my Club and if that could translate itself into selection [for Euro 2016] that would be marvellous. I'm going to work to ensure that my best years are still ahead of me."

Crassus 9:21 Wed Mar 30
Re: Payet v Holland
Cough, in my view better.

Carlos dined out on that for years knocking out floodlights thereafter trying to replicate it and by his own admission, he just clumped it and the ball took a mind of its own

Our boy places them right down the chute, time and again

Far Cough 8:53 Wed Mar 30
Re: Payet v Holland
That free kick is on a par with that ridiculous Roberto Carlos one, yeah I know it's different one

Crassus 8:15 Wed Mar 30
Re: Payet v Holland
Good grief

I have been watching football for a very long time and not one single player has ever hit a dead ball so consistently in that time, not one

The absolute anticipation with him running up to strike it is palpable, its getting that you almost expect him to score.

Now so accustomed to seeing whipped wicked corners even that watching the floaty bollox England have been delivering is an afront to the eyes

Mark my words, if he stays fit he will be the star of the show in France this summer

I agree, he's priceless. just worries me that this late U-turn by Deschamps may be the one thing that fucks us in the long term

Re: Payet v Holland
Honestly, there is not a single figure I would be happy with us selling him for. Simply irreplaceable for me currently. Hope and pray we don't have clubs turn his head.

Re: Payet v Holland
Despite the new contract, we may need to brace ourselves for a lot of interest in the summer. If he has a good Euros then I think big clubs all over Europe will be tempted despite his age.

Re: Payet v Holland
Fuckiñg great goal.

Given the opportunity in the euros will go down as a specialist in the ranks of Roberto Carlos and Thomas Hessler.
